15 The Kinks
Four working-class musicians from northern London formed The Kinks in the 1960s. Mick Avory, Pete Quaife and Dave and Ray Davies generated a unique British rhythm and blues style that starkly reflected the English culture at the time with smash hits like "Please Don't Keep Me Waiting" and "Something Better Beginning".

Along with Kurt (Didn't I Die Weirdly)Cobain, Nirvana’s four-chord approach changed the course of music history. One music legend holds that if one "syncs up" Pink Floyd's "Dark Side of the Moon" with "The Wizard of Oz," the music and the imagery manage to aline line up far too well as only one example of Pink Floyd's artistry, which is also quite evident in their music, stage shows, videos and concept albums. With Queen getting into what is considered "the top five", it has been proudly "staging" some of the most talented musicians ever. It was Freddie Mercury's four-octave range has caused him to be considered the best vocalist in the history of rock. Brian May on guitar, Roger Taylor on drums and John Deacon on bass filled out Queen.
Several of Queen single's, like "Bohemian Rhapsody", "We Will Rock You," and "We Are the Champions, MF" have become rock anthems standardly played at many stadium events even nowadays. Considered far too long to be "radio-friendly", "Bohemian Rhapsody" wasn't even originally supposed to be released as a single, like lengthy "Desolation Row" by Bob Dylan.

#4 The Who (Say What?)
In 1964, The Who was formed which created another great and lasting legacy in rock music. The most famous combination consisted of Pete Townshend on lead guitar, John Entwistle on bass guitar, Roger Daltrey on vocals, Keith Moon on the drums. The starkly different styles of Townshend and Entwistle had Townshend tending to jump into the air and smash his guitar while Entwistle loked on and calmly played bass in the corner of the stage.
The Who is perhaps best known for their performance at Woodstock in 1969 although their "Live at Leeds" made the small previously unknown British city well known, they also produced the album-turned-film Tommy about a pinball wizard who is deaf, blind and mute. Later at least two of their hit singles became TV show themes giving them even more legacy-fame-and-timeless-renown. One of their songs was made even more popular by Elton John in a theatrical version of "Pinball Wizard".

Led Zeppelin, one of the most famous rock bands ever, signed with Atlantic Records in 1968, reportedly legally locking in the most lucrative deal of the 60s era without executives even watching and approving of - a live performance. "Sunshine Of Your Love", "Badge, and "Strange Brew" Paul Revere and the Raiders with "Hungry", "Great Airplane Strike", "Kicks", Just Like Me", and "Indian Reservation" - showed "British Invasion" that USA could still make chartbusters!
Like "Blind Faith", they technically are not called a band, but a "supergroup" like "Cars", "Chumbawamba", the "Archies" and the "Monkeys" since they have musical band members who were all particularly and especially gifted in their roles and specifically somewhat - "assembled" or "put together". The Supergroup Chumbawamba took up political themes and assembled in 1982 to go dis-assembled in 2012 with their name being somewhat lengthy beingalso known as (AKA) Skin Disease, Wumba, Antidote (with The Ex), Scab Aid, Sportchestra, The Middle (as a hoax) Their best known was their song "Tubthumping", Aka "I Get Knocked Down" which was nominated for Best Brit Single at the 1998 British Awards because of sales and radio air-play. Several other singles include "Amnesia", "Enough Is Enough" (with MC [or Motorcycle Club] Fusion), "Timebomb", "Top of the World (Olé, Olé, Olé)", and "Add Me". Perhaps "Thubthumping" will achieve the remembrance of "The Bandit-(Of Brazil)" (Ole O'Cangaceiro) originally sung by Tex Ritter & Buce (Laughter Is Contageous)Low and covered by numerous persons singing in other languages over the years. Like many other good and "re-surrected songs" it first appeared in a movie soundtrack, this one in 1953 - called "Cangaceiro" which is Portuguese for "Cangaceiro" and MAY BE "bandit".
